Hello friends.
Hope you’re keeping positive wherever you are in the world. Keeping you in my prayers and thoughts every single day. Hope you’re still meeting your nearest and dearest online.
Let’s go and get a hot drink with some organic lemon juice. You got to try these garden lemons we picked. You will agree with me, the potent natural lemon juice is by far stronger than the ones we’re used to buying in the shops, besides the shop lemons are also very good.
Hmm, maybe you don’t fancy the hot water lemon drink. You know, the first time I really paid attention to this hot water drink with a slice of lemon was when I visited a friend who I met from Kazakhstan. She was learning Spanish in Spain. Such a simple drink just made the meetings we had; be it lunch or dinner so housewarming during winter and autumn. There was an elegance to it, simple yet elegant, more so with very cold winters in Kazakhstan, she told us this is how they beat cold and flu. This drink was part of their lifestyle.
Okay, come and see what else I got in the cupboard and pick out what you fancy. There is Arabian tea, Arabian coffee, green tea, rooibos tea and normal coffee. In the fridge, I have some juice, water and more lemon juice ?. What would you like? Mum also made some biscuits over the weekend, you just got to try them, yum, seriously, I literally went to get me one, I just made myself “lus” for the biscuit. The word “lus” is a slang Afrikaans word which means tempting/craving.
Alright, we’re all set, let’s talk.
The world has gotten and is going to get even crazier in the coming days and weeks. How will you show up for yourself? Take a minute to think about one moment in your life where you have been faced with a very challenging experience. Was it safer to be in your comfort zone? Did you fight against yourself initially and tell yourself stories to not get moving? Did you want to listen to other people’s point of view from their own angle? To have come so far after that in your life, in the end, did you have to get real with yourself, the truth came to you, and did you stop running from the truth? Did you believe in what you really wanted or did you abandon that too because you let the experience overpower your belief, feelings, thoughts, actions and dreams?
Adversity, if you look at it is an experience that takes you out of your comfort zone, out of even your entire way of thinking from an old to a new way of seeing things. When you’re faced with adversity it often brings out the truth, even the truth of the person you never knew you were. See, when one is faced with adversity you can take that whole experience and spin into such a negative space only taking yourself further down; becoming your own worst enemy or you can take the negative elements of adversity and learn a whole new thing about who you truly can become and what you thought was the truth about people, situations and things you can take that to propel your life and recreate the life that you’re looking for. Sometimes shutting yourself in a dark room, to face your demons for a day or two so that you overcome them and become a whole new person can be very useful and it’s only down the a person to become his/her own hero in that dark room. A superhero doesn’t uncover or grow their own power in the face of no challenges, a superhero uncovers their power in the face of ADVERSITY because they have AUTHENTICALLY stood up to themselves – T. That is why you will find some part of our population becoming the worst of themselves or the best of themselves through adversity. If you focus on bitterness, resentment, injustice, self-entitlement and all the negative things it will consume you but if you let just enough of all your experiences add to expand your wholeness then you will always find a way to reinvent new and better experiences with the new you. Focusing on the positive helps create positive things in the world. You can’t run short of positivity, this is something the world will always need –T. Dench Patel, 30 March 2020, 18:36
You can call adversity the cure to arrogance, ego, pride, selfishness, obsessive behaviour, being paranoid etc if you are willing to accept the change that comes with it.
When I think back over the years, adversity has made me at different ages in my life including with different phases that which enabled me to fight for my dreams and goals. In my teens, rejection made me all the things that I was able to go after the moment an opportunity came knocking on my door. Maybe I’ve taken on good and bad habits but who didn’t in their teens? Then in the twenties, all that I envisioned in my teens became a dream but was that really me? Is what I asked myself in the thirties. Then at thirty-four years of age, I began to follow the authenticity route which till this day has given me so many positive improvements in my spirit, emotions, feelings, thoughts, actions, beliefs, life experience… like I can go on, adversity or not, it’s great to find peace and wisdom from your practises. The rewards are massive when you are authentic first and foremost to yourself. – T. Dench Patel, 30 March 2020, 20:20
Adversity basically cuts right through the rubbish; it reveals all the nonsense you have been buying into and have been living day in and day out. If you can’t embrace adversity, surrender and learn to evolve for the better then you cannot be adaptable. Adversity can be seen as the sign pointing you to your true calling, but you have to ensure you don’t miss the signs or take them the wrong way. For anything to move forward change has to be embraced, just change for the better and not the worse. See a plant would just surrender and adapt the best way it can to flourish and survive according to its environment. Be careful of weeds, they spread themselves everywhere, competing for light and starve other plants. T. Dench Patel, 30 March 2020, 20:35
Take your adversity, adapt, survive and bloom into a beautiful, strong plant don’t become the part of the population who choose to spread their negativity to thrive in adversity. What you sow is what you reap. – T. Dench Patel, 30 March 2020, 20:37
Are you going to be your own hero or are you going to be heroin? T. Dench Patel, 30 March 2020, 20:46
