Hello friends,
hope you are well and had a lovely weekend.
A lot of people are not used to sitting at home for so many days, in fact, I’m sure you have your share of stories. Truth is, when was the last time you have spent so many days with all members of the family at home at the same time as you? There’s only so much and so long you can sit at home, while for me I’m quite used to it, I wish there were more hours in a day and more energy for me in one day to do more than what I am currently doing.
It’s been a peaceful twenty-one days of lockdown here at home while the time is getting extended, still, it was nice to go and do the shopping yesterday. Unfortunately, people have died in this time, unfortunately, weddings have been cancelled and there are so many things that seem so important that can’t happen right now. You know, when I lived in Switzerland, I was told that Swiss people are very focused on security, like health insurance, life insurance etc. There was insurance for every single thing and feeling safe was very important even when considering a safe holiday destination. Swiss people often talked about the “stress” that swiss people have. I could imagine, actually what the banking world must have been like, it was the time of economic crisis.
Now here we are, Coronavirus, and in twenty-one days or more we still get news of the old and young leaving our world even if it’s not from the virus itself. It makes me think about how nothing can be predicted. I mean people planned their funerals before their deaths, that’s how certain people were about the world after their existence ended, at least for their bodies. A ceremony for your death and it’s already paid for in advance. Then it’s sad to see all these bodies, people’s deaths where the present has become a world where you are certain you will die alone (even without the virus) when you do uncover how far you and this virus have gone.
It no longer matters who was going to take which responsibility for your funeral, who would be present, where it would be held, and how those who know or knew you bid you farewell. There’s a lot of people dying all at once. Funerals are restricted to forty or fifty people now, and with closed coffins, you cannot even kiss your loved ones with a final goodbye or there’s a risk of getting contaminated. It’s almost as if you’ve been deprived of most human rights that humans themselves have made; hugging, kissing, socialising, holidays, funerals, weddings, holy celebrations at places of worship, and even not going to the old age home to see the elderly. The elderly here in South Africa, are very very limited to going out. It’s become all about YOU, and YOU alone. Maybe these articles I’ve written some time back might interest you.
- You come into this world with nothing you leave with nothing what’s in between is a journey/
- You come into this world as a child and you leave the world as a child/
I mean an entire family could end up in a hospital and you can’t even be with each other, all you can do is ask God/Universe/Source call it what you want for help all by yourself, no church, no mosque, no temple, no place of worship just you and God/Universe/Source call it what you want… Some people have spoken for the first time, some people had a part relationship while some people have already built a relationship with the Higher power. Some people have for the first time spoken and made their own funeral and peace before their spirit leaves.
The current state of affairs (Coronavirus) brings me to this point. We get heart attacks, stress, worry, fuss and act out over things that just show us, in the end, was all for what? We can’t have anything always the way we want, while those who get heart attacks over not having money to sort out a funeral plan or what will happen when they get a heart attack and worry over what they don’t have also can’t control that. We’ve all met each other and our worries at the same point; a dead end. Where having something or having nothing will still get you something. The government has taken care of that, hopefully. – T. You know, I’ve often heard this from old people who were about to die, or at least I’ve read tons of things to always come across this one, “Grandpa, what would you change if you could live all over again?” “Child, I should have just worried less, things still work out in the end.” – T. After meditating every single day, praying (for myself, the planet and all things), saying affirmations, do things I am passionate about, spend time on people, exercising and sitting down for three meals, whether they’re heavy or light, the meals bit is something I trained myself to do because I remember a time when I skipped them just for work and then lost count how many times I’ve done that to myself. I saw the majority of people doing it and learnt from them. I told myself never again, it’s the time I give to me, my body, spirit, soul, mind and health, it’s the love I give to me. Of course, when I work, and something important has to happen, I will skip meals sometimes, but I always choose the limit.
The point I want to make is that living to some extent in the present gives you some control and some satisfaction, that when tomorrow comes it really has a way beyond your knowing that it will take care of itself, it’s called trust, trust that everything is working in the divine order of all. Not only does this let you off the hook, but it lets you live in peace and in the knowledge that you can transmute your anxieties, stress, worry, etc to the Higher powers and do what you got to do without putting too much pressure on yourself.
