Hey friends,
Happy Tuesday,
I am trying not to type so fast, I’m trying to protect my little finger. I had an accident which will take weeks to heal. I can’t believe it, I do so many things with my right hand, who would have thought? See in the year two thousand and nineteen I began training my right hand, and in the year two thousand and twenty I began training my right foot. I don’t know if I’d be “goofy” (the word Germans use for a lefty) now when I snowboard. Not a very good snowboarder; not having any medical cover or life insurance and nearing ninety francs to then last me three months in the year two thousand and nine did affect my lessons when I was snowboarding, fear stopped me from going very far, but this fear came only when someone got injured at the ski resort (no not Michael Schumacher – I think that would have traumatised me). She was airlifted, after returning from the hospital we hung out, and that’s when she went into detail. It really was the last thing I needed and for me, it was wise not to become a further liability to myself. It’s important sometimes to know your limits when signs and intuition keep coming up.
Regardless, I’m sure I’m an excellent “wannabe snowboarder” as the trainer Gianni who is half German and Italian called me. I have never met such an excellent sports coach at all snow activities, he was also an excellent surfer, so I heard. I have this image of how Gianni would so perfectly “drive” his snowboard from chalet one to chalet two where I waited, gliding like spiderman’s enemy … what’s his name again? Yes, that villain guy that Peter Parker had to defeat. … Green Goblin on his “air board”. Gianni made snowboarding so effortless. He’d park his board with precision right in front of me. I looked like a gormless rapper strapping myself onto my board. We once did a … what you call? Garage sale, I think there’s another word for this that’s pretty funny. It’s an American word… we left a trail of our gear behind as we fell, slid, and rolled (more like tumbling) like barrels down a steep hill… What a laugh! I’d make up for all inadequacies in the snowboarding arena through my classic Spanish guitar, ha! Not many people can play flamenco in the snow. Alright, exaggerating… on the balcony… better? 😉 I was pretty good with my left-handed classical guitar and twenty-one songs, with a handful of flamenco tricks and songs up my sleeve.
So, an injury with right lil pinky ain’t gonna stop me from writing this article even if I am slow.
I was going to write the article better the devil you know but I thought going to hell to meet the devil himself and returning with a tan is something I seem to have a gift for. Let’s not go around attracting a lot of this, okay…?
I wrote this article, and sure it’s gone viral Truth or dare? True or False? This article comes with a disclaimer and then I hear these words in the subject title by Jordan Peterson Detach self-regard even when you know your inadequacies – Jordan Peterson. Do you know that the people of this planet have just been given this concept now? That we’ve raised the bar going forward, a higher standard by one more idea on how we can stop inequality in the smallest given situations we may find ourselves in, nothing about race, nothing about nationality, nothing about rich or poor and everything about respect.
“Treat yourself like you’re someone responsible for helping. The idea would be that you know people are often ashamed and embarrassed and anxious because of their insufficiencies and failures and the incomplete nature of their characters, and all the things they don’t know and all of that, and so it’s useful to develop an ethic of practising detached self-regard. It’s not self-regard, it’s not narcissism, it’s not self-esteem, it’s not grandiosity, it’s none of that. It’s just the clear realization that as other people have value and as it’s necessary to treat them that way if you want anything in your relationships whatsoever to go right. So, it’s also necessary to develop that attitude towards yourself, despite the knowledge you have of all your inadequacies. That is a really good thing to practice because it requires practice, both the detachment and then that ethic of care. You want to act in accordance with your highest values. Now that means you have to figure out what those values are.
If you act in accordance with your highest values, sometimes that makes your day-to-day operations difficult, because you have to confront unpleasant truths. You’d have to discuss things that you’d rather avoid. It would be easier to act to decrease conflict in the moment, but it’s a very bad medium to long term strategy. You have to engage in a certain amount of conflict moment to moment if you are going to say and do the things that are necessary in order to set things right in the medium to long term and for an increasing large number of people and that’s also another guide to leadership, I would say. You need a broad scale vision.”
“When you specify your goal then almost everything becomes irrelevant and only those things that are important stand up in sharp relief.”
(If you do find any errors in the content within quotation marks this is because the transcript is a word for word in American English and is exact, i.e., according to his spoken words.)
You know that article in the link that’s gone viral is really proving old school mentality across the world no matter how educated or experienced you may be thus far that idea of who is worthy and who isn’t worthy caused slavery, castes, caused Apartheid, causes racism, causes modern-day slavery, causes xenophobia… causes rich, causes poor, the continuation of patriarchy, causes inequality even hierarchy without estimating what is true high-quality education or behaviour.
