Hello friends,
have you missed me? Yes, it’s been a while.
I don’t even know how long will be a while longer. Keep checking back though, because one day, I might not be able to stop writing. You might need a train to catch this writer… he… he…
The only reason I am writing this article is that someone asked me to write about it. She thought everyone needs to learn this or know about it, as this is a topic that many people don’t take time to observe, or even have an awareness of. She asked me for insight.
A while back I wrote these articles:
What does going back to your roots actually mean? Where is home?
What does going back to your roots actually mean? Where is home? Part 2
Many of us don’t really learn how to treat ourselves as we grow up with other people’s script, other people’s ideas, even other people’s perception of what “correct,” “righteous,” or “positive” really is, and if we don’t learn how to treat ourselves, others and what they have learnt will constantly be something that could hit us; positive or negative. Now, not necessarily, this can harm someone, as no one is perfect, but there can be that one day, where the wrong kind of person with the wrong kind of intentions might cross our path. If we don’t know how to treat ourselves, then we would have never learnt how to deflect something that could be of potential danger coming at us.
To begin, we are all born, perfect in our hearts, pure in our hearts, and then we learn everything here, on this planet. As much as negativity grows the soul so does positivity. If we think of it, why have we become so driven to something, or why are we more inclined to take action in other areas of our life rather than other opportunities we decline? The element of passion and high-powered passion comes from pain, loss, or even negative experiences, but we are not taught to live mindfully. No one can teach us this, this is something we can only teach ourselves, and this higher awareness takes divine timing/meeting; a certain degree of experience meeting the intention to decide to live mindfully.
Now, to write this article, I have undergone, (otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to mentor this person) some years of negative experiences. I could say that these negative experiences feel very negative especially when you transcend from one culture (a born culture) with some good and not-so-great practices to another distinct culture with some good and not-so-great practices. So, see, the grass is never really green on any side, it’s just the unknown perspective that makes it look greener on the other side.
So, something interesting or magical has taken place recently, such as an experience well forgotten (a great one) that reminded me of our true nature, and then there were the not so great and good practices of another culture that taught me something which many people from third world countries are not aware of, except for the educated and wealthy. This combination of negative and positive plays a constant role in our lives. Relating even more directly to this title A soul living in a body is no different from a body living in a home. Here’s why? is another such article that got a lot of readerships from at least 8 countries. Here is that article I don’t believe South Africans or people in third world countries have ever had the advantage of living and understanding the term “Safe Space”
Look, we are not born with values, morals, super Jesus. All of this was instilled into us. We go to maybe church, temple, synagogue, mosque, Indian school, Catholic school, etc. We are taught this is wrong and that is right, but when do we actually really learn it? When something really dreadful happens to us or when we have done something right after it took the deepest thought processes in our core to break through our resistance for us to actually do the right thing.
Throughout life, we get sabotaged, because we don’t know ourselves well. We don’t know who we are, and what our core values, morals are. To go even further, where do we get them from, and how? Do we take time to truly get to know ourselves? If we do, we can guard our soul and its pureness from where we live our calling more wisely while the world will constantly talk, make new, create more, “noise,” that may not even be part of our journey. Are we living by other people’s (idealism) identity?
So, what is a home? Shouldn’t a home be a safe place? A place where you can be who you want to be, do what you please to do, a place where you find and grow your personal power in privacy after you say, “I’m tired, I am going home,” taking all that has happened in the outer/external world to look through and clear out the clutter so that you may open/create space for more to enter or more to become stronger.
So, why do we let rubbish enter our homes, keep quiet in our homes (sure sometimes we should know when to be quiet), let rubbish do what it wants, and leave with a sense of satisfaction? Do you do that to yourself? Do you let just anyone touch your body (you know what I mean), let anyone play with your mind? Do you let anyone hurt and abuse your body physically and inflict emotional and spiritual pain on you?
The same, we, unfortunately, (before COVID) lived (I really hope not after the world moves on, I really wish not in our present lives, hopefully past tense) in a world where all it took was one chance to mess everything up for a someone, unfortunately, everyone (even good people) got it (I hope had it) hard.
Our home and every soul that lives in our home is a Safe Space, external influences/forces will try an intrude to create disruption or conflict. It is up to us to not let our internal core get disrupted by others who may be toxic, know who we are, know who our people are. If we know someone who is toxic and don’t intend to change, we shouldn’t let “junk” enter and sabotage the wonderful energetic, home that we have built over time with true morals and values.
The same goes for anything you have spent time investing in that has pure selflessness and purpose in creating it.
Yours sincerely,
T. Dench Patel
