Hello friends,
as promised in yesterday’s article Spiritual scanning, spiritual awakenings and spiritual detox – Why we release tears during meditation? I mentioned that I was going to write an article about how illness can come about in the body if one does not manage well internal and external pressures. Worry, stress, resentments, anger, trauma, pain, anxiety or even oppression can be stored in certain parts of the body. Often if you’re repeating the cycle bringing back the same thing you’ve been diagnosed with then it’s like that, you’re repeating the same cycle. This is why some sort of light or enjoyable form of exercise, sport or meditation helps the spirit, body, mind and soul to remove or change, reset or project a different shift from what you have been churning day to day.
Toxic emotions can be stored anywhere in the body and even in the organs, muscles and tissues. This article How to release emotions stuck in your body is worth a read. It’s true as the article states that no one (not even school) teaches you to process emotions in a healthy way. Let’s admit it (for the older generation), many of us grew up with fear, anger, repressed, oppressed, shame etc. It’s only as the generations became advanced and technology along with the internet which is now part of many many homes can we access this information and much more. Also, as the human race evolves so do better solutions appear because of repercussions that are now better analysed or looked into.
Stress according to many studies is not good for cancer patients. Stress actually increases the spread of cancer according to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
I also am glad that the article in the link above mentions that staying in the repressed state creates masks and armour, you convince yourself you’re a soldier and you continue marching on.
“The unresolved emotions get trapped in our body where they build and fester, draining our energy, leading to burnout, emotional imbalance, and eventually disease. When we chronically repress emotions, we create toxicity in our body, mind, and heart.
This unprocessed emotional energy is stored in our organs, muscles, and tissues. It leads to inflammation and chronic health problems, and it undermines our overall well-being.”
There are three steps in the above article that helps you to process the emotional energy stuck in your body.
What happens when you worry too much? Are you one of those “the worrier” and “the warrior”?
Oof what a combination. Worrying causes high anxiety and even physical illness.
Now, look at this article Anxiety and its effects on the body.
According to the above article
Anxiety affects the brain:
- A sense of doom
- Panic attacks
- Depression
- Headaches – from consistent worry and stress
- Irritability – worry can increase your overall feeling of irritability
2) Breathing problems
3) Pounding heart
4) Loss of libido
5) Upset stomach
6) Extreme fatigue
7) Increase in blood pressure
8) Muscle aches and other pains
This article How worrying affects the body? is pretty good, on page two it goes into the hormones that get released when we stress and worry, how it boosts the blood sugar levels and triglycerides and what can occur if the excessive fuel in the blood isn’t used for physical activities.
Repression
Repression causes the immune system to weaken. Repressed emotions causes the immune system to slow down its function which can then add, create or cascade into stress, depression and anxiety.
Perhaps this article could be helpful Consequences of repression of emotion: Physical health, mental health and general wellbeing
Burdens and responsibilities
Burdens and responsibilities affect the neck and shoulder areas. The tension tightens the muscles.
Anger and frustration
Anger is stored in the liver and the gall bladder. According to this article The root of emotional imbalance according to your organs an imbalanced gallbladder can be caused by longstanding feelings of repressed anger, such as resentment, frustration, and irritability. Avoiding outbursts of anger will protect liver and gallbladder health. This article also talks about grief and depression and where that is stored and goes into Chinese medicine and natural foods that help the body.
Anger in men causes lower back pain and the physical symptoms are sciatica, prostate or kidney stones, colon. Emotional Source: Anger issues, stress of unsatisfying job/home life.
Anger in women causes lower back pain too and the physical symptoms are ovaries, pelvic disorder. Emotional Source: Loss of power, buried emotions.
Fear
Fear is stored in the stomach and intestines. This is an excellent chart for you to see on the body and where emotions get stored, in fact, it’s more detailed than my article Emotional pain chart (this was revealing, as I have a bunion on one of my feet).
Oppression
Oppression affects the voice and throat. The symptom for this is the sign to speak or the sign to withhold.
I recommend the following:
While I was doing my research for this article, I’ve found so many brilliant resources that I want to share with you. Like for example, this article mentions where stress is held in the body and what happens to the body. It discusses the following:
