Hello friends,
Hope all is well. I started with a really bad joke on the first version of this article, and then it disappeared from my entire computer storage files. Maybe the universe thought it should challenge me on writing a better version. Alrighty, here we go.
Yesterday was a strange sorta tech day, that I even thought I made a bad joker, or that I am rather better at being Batman…haha ha get it? Joker… Batman… (eyes going big from left to right with eyebrows hanging in all funny directions from my forehead). Okay, I know I am terrible at being a joker… absolutely terrible, I should stop trying for the part.
Alright, now keep your eyes peeled, this is an upgrade to what you know or even what some millionaires know, and if you get this now just imagine the rate you have grown alone on this one topic where even to this day there are currently tons of wealthy and poor people who still didn’t/don’t know this concept. The reason purely for this is that the growth mindset is consistent at learning, un-learning and re-learning.
What is the difference between balance and harmony?
Balance can be defined as a structured routine or a structure based on two opposing forces almost like black and white and no room for shades of grey.
Harmony where different areas, parts come together making something work in congruency with the other taking into consideration all the factors that play a role, i.e., black, white and grey. I will add that harmony is when there is perfect timing between all areas and their progress or growth all maturing roughly or meeting at the right time at the right place in some situation, thing etc.
Balance vs Harmony
You know, somewhere I have heard Jeff Bezos hint on stress and even balance. I believe that every person embarking on something significant in their lives such as entrepreneurs, soldiers, leaders, significant people in this world have come to meet balance before they meet up with harmony. Balance, basically is the stepping stone to harmony, making harmony the upgrade to balance. Don’t get me wrong balance actually brings about discipline before one can appreciate how harmony works. I mean as forceful as balance sounds, some of us have to force ourselves to follow through on our workout routine while some of us are now in our workout routine as if it’s like brushing our teeth or just like showering and getting dressed up to begin one’s day. I mean physical health and forcing oneself to get started is the question of mental health too, if one can command their body, they most definitely know how to command their mind. So, if we consider this properly, if it isn’t/wasn’t for balance there wouldn’t be harmony between the mind and body.
Bringing such theories which make sense that says balance is everything about the internal relationship with you and harmony is everything about the external things around you and your outer relationship with that/them, meaning people, things, situations etc. Balance can work to create strength and preparation for managing or creating harmony through the dark, light and grey, almost like harmony in disharmony.
Going back to Jeff Bezos and his example of stress (imbalance) he mentions that stress is more of a state of mind or the pressure that someone exerts on themselves mentally and stress would not occur if the thought causing the stress has been dealt with, meaning that if stress is something people are saying they have then they haven’t taken action on the thought/thoughts of what is actually causing the stress. He goes about saying that stress can happen to both the rich and poor because if someone is homeless for the first time, imagine how much stress they could be in or have to get their life back on track.
Now going back to Jeff Bezos and now Elon Musk, both of them say and other leaders all say and come back to this, do what you are passionate about because I believe that the more you do what you are passionate about you will upgrade to excellence in passion or some quote that talks of excellence in talent. Passion and following your passion according to leaders is long term sustainability and satisfaction. Similarly, when one does what they are passionate about there is no division (opposing forces that are talked of in balance) as the division is something that can cause stress or force a person to divide themselves causing stress meaning that when a person does what they are passionate about work is life and life is work. No one to choose neither one to choose because ultimately one has attracted all that is of harmony to their life, including those in their life, which then takes us to authenticity (don’t live someone else’s life), where one has chosen their life and others choosing them because they have attracted one another to them.
By attracting others who are attracted to your authenticity and passion the more you will be able to continue living and finding the sparkle the more one can overcome adversity and re-invent their reputation and that of their passion and ultimately as one continues on the path of growth, re-invention to what matters and what they love it quite obviously will lead to their success and their work becoming monumental, but as much as the icing/topping on the cake can be laid thick (and is a bonus) leaders know that it’s the harmony in the layers that have got the icing/topping to look and taste so amazing meaning, that leaders know that ultimate success and consistent success come from the journey itself and not from the icing/topping because if life was a rehearsal we’d all would be able to master the part where we get to be the king and queen.
To be able to ensure that you have this concept ingrained in you compare notes with this article here 9 simple rules in finding harmony in life.
