Hello friends,
what! We’re already on the last article of this week, where did the time go? Yeah! Sure, time can pass really fast if you’re busy hanging out in the forbidden forest.
Seriously, where do these titles come from? They come in the shower at times, sometimes before exercising/dancing, sometimes during meditation, and this one, yah! This one is frequent, usually while I’m washing dishes.
This article came to mind yesterday and I believe a lot of people are not aware of this or have a name to what they do habitually, subconsciously, because it’s so common in society, in fact, ninety-nine percent of the population operates from lack that is why there’s only one percent (maybe even less) of the world’s population who are successful at working on the self (even though the market for self-development is growing and expected to be around $13. 9 billion dollars by the year 2023. Still, it’s nothing if the work isn’t being implemented). Not many people are aware of how lack can diminish positivity, confidence, self-belief, authority, reputation etc. However if only one percent of the world’s population has reached some seriously massive goals they’ve set for themselves then it’s fair to say that their scarcity empowered them to reach their desired outcome, but they are all too familiar at how most of the world’s frequency is sitting at on this specific topic.
Scarcity like most, even with me, created ambition. Like the time I realised I could not go to university. The less you have when starting the more you desire for yourself, the bigger the vision and goals you have. This is very true, look at Oprah Winfrey, The Rock, Jennifer Lopez, Demi Moore, Madonna, the list goes on even if there aren’t people on the top of the list yet. Scarcity can come in many forms but the number one reason where scarcity begins from is from being treated unfair, if you really look at the list of the names up there, or people who you can really admire in your surroundings that excelled through some challenging times, then you can see one thing is clear, they didn’t come from a place of entitlement. Whether a person has been raped, a person born in an unequal political system, poverty, sexist society, the scarcity is different for each person. Scarcity zooms in on what you really want because the struggles are all too familiar and sometimes more in one area compared to the rest.
We all do have underlying scarcity and we operate minimally on this (not everyone) i.e. like when you know that there’s very little shampoo left in the bottle (a very expensive shampoo) and you’re feeling stingy to spend and so you use less and less (procrastinating), or the contrary you will only buy something until the price drops by then there’s a new version of it, the same goes with toilet paper (ask America, sorry, I still ask why toilet paper during the initial stages of Coronavirus), oh! And we ladies can really relate to when the lotion is about to get finished.
What if there was no scarcity?
Life would be very boring, and like I responded to someone’s question during this week which was, “It’s taking very long,” and my answer was, “If we all could get what we wanted when we wanted then we all would be billionaires.” No struggle, no reasons for why we want it, can you imagine that? We might as well just ask to go back to where we came from before we arrived to earth. What would it all mean if it all came so easily?
If you’re really feeling lack right now, especially now during the worst crisis in most of our history (COVID)?
The only way to beat lack is, this is not easy and nothing in life that is worth gaining a long-term positive result usually is easy, it takes practice, it takes building a muscle. Ready for it? The only way to beat lack is to practice abundant thoughts and gratitude. Basically, abundance and gratitude bring more of what you want and lack chases away what you want to come to you. This self-improvement tip helps your mental health, well-being and positivity. This way you don’t see/focus on what you don’t have and you only see/focus on what you do have.
Worrying solves nothing it creates scarcity
Growing up in South Africa and just sitting back coolly when everyone is scurrying around is something that is so pressuring. You’re judged for not participating in the scurrying. So, if I sit back, ask realistically and logically, “Does the situation really need one more person scurrying around when it takes two people to do that job? The answer is No, so I will just chill until I am actually needed because the other person got there before me.” oh! Boy! This attitude gets you into trouble everywhere because if you’re employed for someone especially here in South Africa, you’re actually their slave. A lot of workers in South Africa and all over the world right now are coming from a place of lack losing their jobs, they’re feeling pressure to overwork, they’re going over and beyond to keep their jobs even if it means they’re taken advantage of. If anything, having over forty jobs and having to give up some that I really loved has taught me, it’s this, “Do your best, everything happens for a reason, surrender if you must, but don’t let the situation make you lose dignity for yourself first and foremost as it has happened in the past, better is on its way even if the pain might come first.” Seriously and honestly I’ve always chosen the position of “something better is on the way, wait or struggle it through,” and even through a four-year relationship which headed in the direction of domestic violence from the third month onwards, that sentence, “something better is on the way, wait or struggle it through,” is probably what perhaps kept me strong (I don’t recommend you do this by the way).
Coming to the topic of domestic violence, this has everything to do with one person’s lack thereof. The weaker party is the one who has been overpowered, instilled with fear, dominated (no not the victim) the abuser is the one that is insecure of the victim’s potential.
What does it feel like to have a mindset of abundance and gratitude?
The abundant and gratitude mindset is one where no matter how bad the day is you can still see the blessing in it, day in and day out. The mindset of abundance and gratitude just naturally allows you to trust and view the positives just by sitting down and taking stock of them. So far, what grounds me and really helps me feel into this is meditation, prayer, affirmations, writing in my gratitude journal, spending time with our dog, spending time in the garden, journaling and writing articles like these to stay in touch with my creativity.
Here’s a good article that could help you too Is deficiency driving your life?
How do you know you’re operating from lack?
When your thoughts and sentences are around:
- It’s going to run out
- What we’re going to do when it gets finished?
- I’m scared that this is going to happen if e.g. I lose my job
What feelings, emotions, decisions from lack create?
They create a lower vibration instead of vibrations on positive frequencies, like when you feel happiness, joy, laughter, adventure, excitement etc. Lower vibrations could be anxiety, panic, fear, helplessness, desperation, hopelessness, depression etc. By focusing on the fact that your life matters more than the situation, your health matters more than a lost contract, there is worse out there, that is choosing positive thoughts i.e. high-frequency thoughts.
Like I mentioned, you feel pressure if you look calm and take things lightly during tough times, society has created this idea that if you don’t worry you don’t care instead of looking at people individually. It’s been going on for years, throwing people into a labelled box. – T. Dench Patel, 19 August 2020, 22:11 The calmest person in the room has probably learnt to sail rough waters long ago, maybe even long enough. That’s the person who will probably take just one decision and one action to bring everyone to logical reasoning or even to a possible solution – T. Dench Patel, 19 August 2020, 22:14
Look, another perfect example, the lawyer and the appellant. This is why, especially in South Africa (don’t know other third world countries), the appellant comes from so much lack because lawyers are expensive and the idea that it’s only the lawyer that can help you win this (even if the majority of the cases demonstrate that you can’t seem to bypass something very hard and long-standing in the law itself), the appellant believes in hope, it’s all they can do through the desperation. Seriously, man’s law thinks it’s god’s/source/universe’s/higher power’s law. No, by no comparison – T. Dench Patel, 19 August 2020, 22:22
Lack is not serving you, a friend on mine made a video today where she advised on only having so much time to wallow in pity and then, that’s it! Give it a cut off time.
To end here’s another resource Mindset matters, how to shift your lack mentality to receive all you desire.
