I was always a big dreamer.
So many said, “You will never…”
In 1997 I started writing poetry.
I didn’t tell anybody.
I had a pen and paper under my pillow,
and I’d think about the world, my dreams…
at that place, we called Willow.
Mobile phones were still a novelty,
and so … late at night, I’ll write in the dark.
Daylight had another priority,
but no matter what … when the pen hit the paper there was always a spark.
As silly as it sounds… I wasn’t sure if I could make writing a career,
then one day in 2009 all I had was 90 francs, a computer and loads of fear…
To my disbelief, I wrote the draft to my book The South African: True Colours in 4 weeks,
Here it is the final version… take a peek …
Let me know if it is “da bomb!”
