Dear friends,
how are you doing today, how are you doing this week?
To those who have been in the same school as me, those who have been in the same school year as me, or in the same class as me. To those who have been reading my blog posts and looking at my work. To those who can comprehend this letter and understand its meaning, the meaning it gives you whether you’re supposed to be in class right now, have left or finished school long ago.
Those who have been in school with me or in the same schooling years until Apartheid ended and later on comprehended Apartheid would have a special appreciation for the kind of education that resides on my blog. It is something we never could access back then and even to some degree today. Very few of us went on to live what we thought would never come true and that is our dreams, while some of us are still trying. The world has evolved so much in terms of how a person can conduct themself but there’s one thing we’re all still familiar with and that is racism. We are a very young nation (here in South Africa) that supposedly left racism behind in the year nineteen ninety-four, and we all in this country to this day still witness racism every single day.
To all the students of the twenty-twenty academic year, you’re witnessing a fall in the system and one of the largest crises that man have never faced on such a global level, Coronavirus. Now the lid has even popped on racism. It is up to you to begin leading, this is your chance to lead and become the change you wish to see on this planet. This is your chance to learn, grow, take all this information presented here, on the internet and all that you’re consuming and reinvent our planet through the quantity and quality of information you have in your possession. We’ve never had what you’ve got at the age you’re at right now. Instead of believing that our world is going to the dogs, help us build an even better world, better systems and better leaders. This world needs you, it needs you to step up and use all your talents and consolidate all that you’ve been taught to something we’ve never seen before. Do not doubt yourself, it might actually be exactly what is needed and required.
While we’ve been promoting my books The South African: True Colours (based on a true story), The South African: Roamer (based on a true story) and Light (fictional children’s book) I receive feedback. With regards to the books based on a true story here in South Africa, there’s a lot of mixed feelings and lack of understanding on the bigger picture when people from various races just sum it up with the synopsis. Some would say, “Why bring back the past?” The past is vital because we haven’t laid down strong foundations, as a world, as a country, as one nation, the foundations are not strong. Referring back to the story helps us understand where the foundations are broken, what we require, how we need to reset and build better foundations. Why and where the old ways have broken down and no longer works.
It is disappointing for me to see our younger generations witnessing this and have to still face racism after such a long history. We can strive for better, we must, we will, and we can. The opportunities coming up in your life is going to challenge you to be very authentic and truly aligned to your calling and values. The world cannot spin backwards, it just can’t. Your chance will be coming and before you know it, it will be here, make the best of the time you have currently. This article is of great importance, especially during your schooling years and into higher education especially if by the time you get to this article the education system hasn’t changed.
It’s just the beginning, the world is ready for an upgrade, it’s certainly calling for one. There is so much available in terms of past crashes, history from the past that can bring about entirely new concepts, structures, systems, skills, solutions and like everything that was currently working up to now will end up being called “traditional ways.” Judgement has become the biggest block in every human being and has been, always, this is the first place to start and then maybe everything else will become much easier. Putting people in boxes is no longer an option. – T. Dench Patel, 4 June 2020, 22:33
It’s time for change. Ready, get set, go… First and foremost, can someone remove the word BAME in the writing industry?
I’d pretty much like to get on with the skill, talents and qualifications I’ve been blessed with and endorsed with by Source.
One for all and all for one 😉
Yours sincerely,
