Hello friends,
how are you?
Want some chocolate? 😀 Okay, let’s not go there. In case you are wondering why I’ve started today’s article like this, then you must read part one of this article which I’ve posted yesterday. I thought I was done with this topic, but obviously, I wasn’t because the minute I hit the page with my keyboard a whole lot of information started flooding in and so here we are again on this topic as I open the flood gates to part 2.
Sincerely my dear friends, how are you? If these times have ever taught me something more than the norm then it’s this, I have been building on the art of compassion without even knowing it. I truly feel that having this potential is a massive gift. What has these times taught you? We really would like to hear from you, drop us some comments.
Alright, let’s get straight into it before I lose what’s coming in. From yesterday’s article, you would have gathered that self-acceptance is crucial to self-worth. What’s coming to me is that once you know what you are passionate about and what you aren’t passionate about you just got to accept it, and understand how far up or down the ladder it needs to be in your priorities list. Let’s face it, if we’re good at everything then we’re not exceptionally good at anything – T. Dench Patel, 30 June 2020, 15:35 Ask me, in my twenties I was a jack of all trades, even though I could write you a poem in five minutes I should have really put that skill as number one, but as you can now see, writing is my number one passion, it has always been, I just didn’t learn enough about myself to be able to believe it.
What I am really trying to say is that you got to know what your values are and what is the value that you specifically have that no one in the seven and a half billion people have that you can own one hundred percent. You already know that deep inside. The longer you betray yourself on that answer to that question the longer it’s going to stand there as a voice in your head singing that same old record and guess what? That record is going to get louder and louder each time you ignore it. So, when that voice is telling you, “Yes, now it’s time, now I can pursue my passion,” (it’s basically telling you to take a right turn), you then self-sabotage yourself believing in the false thing that you’re chasing, the thing that isn’t aligned to you, so what do you do? You take a left turn from the voice that is continuously pointing you at the right turn. If you haven’t taken the right turn now, perhaps two years later, or five years down the line or who knows when… if you’re aware enough you will notice the signs if you’re aware enough the signs keep showing up louder and brighter each time.
How do you know if this voice is genuine? Each time you think of doing what you love, and fantasize it working out it gives you this great amazing feeling which sends an awesome vibration throughout your body, or imagine when you get that feeling, that everything has aligned in your life to make it possible? This is actually the crossroad at which you either take the road or betray yourself for the god knows how many “….th” time.
Self-worth comes from self-value and that has nothing to do with money, it has everything to do with you feeling one hundred percent valued in yourself by what you’re doing day to day and the fulfilment you receive from that. It will be so fulfilling that you can’t see your days without doing that even if you have all the money in the world to retire. – T. Dench Patel, 30 June 2020, 15:54
How you feel about yourself is absolutely important, and feeling positive and valued by yourself truly eliminates any demons holding you back from where you can go, how you feel, what you do, who you look at and you know what? There will be no time for that when you know who you are, everything including your skillset. You don’t even plan to live congruently, it naturally happens. – T. Dench Patel, 30 June 2020, 16:00
I truly believe that self-worth is tied one hundred percent to purpose because when you do what fulfils you and what drives you, you’re in flow, you increase what Dr John F. DeMartini calls genius action which inspires you and that’s when what you envision begins to manifest in reality. – T. Dench Patel, 30 June 2020, 16:09
Let me put some of Dr John F. DeMartini’s quotes here because I really want to instil this philosophy and have you clear with the concept.
“When the voice and the vision on the inside is more profound and more clear and loud than all opinions on the outside, you’ve begun to master your life” – John Demartini, Count Your Blessings: The Healing Power of Gratitude and Love
“The moment you realize you already have everything you’re looking for, the universe gives it to you.”- John F. Demartini, The Breakthrough Experience: A Revolutionary New Approach to Personal Transformation
“Whatever we think about and thank about we bring about.” – John F. DeMartini
“If you and another person had exactly the same values, one of you would not be necessary!” – John F. Demartini, The Values Factor: The Secret to Creating an Inspired and Fulfilling Life
Finally, to put part 2 of Self-worth NOT net worth: The number one reason why you are where you are to rest, I will end with this.
For me the best one is this one, I can’t find it officially as a quote on the internet, but when I joined Dr John F. DeMartini’s talk this one really stood out.
“You can look down on people and up on people, but you really should put people in your heart. When you do that, you attract everyone.” John F. DeMartini
Yours sincerely,
