Hey friends,
How’s it going?
He he! This ain’t the last article of this week for sure… and it’s Wednesday.
Let me dive right into this topic… (Shoooop! Busy diving in and paddling around). Did I tell you I am not a good swimmer by any chance? Oh! Shoot, no, I haven’t, but I’m a great swimmer and diver when diving into topics, writing, and other things, and at times I am a shark at eating words… pass me all that bureaucratic stuff, I will munch it up and spit it right back out!
Alright, straight to the point. You all have heard enough about failures, right? I mean there are tons of places in my articles on https://tdenchpatel.com/blog/ that I write about mistakes and failures. There are tons of words we can use for the word perseverance, such as, not giving up, persist, don’t take no for an answer, and just the same there are many people in history who we have as examples of this such as Abraham Lincoln, Steve Jobs, Mandela, Gandhi …
You know, I really hope in this article, what I am saying or about to say doesn’t sound vanilla. So, let’s see if I can take on a more powerful angle on this topic.
I guess, we can say that commitment is a partner to perseverance, and the question is how committed are we to the goal in whatever that may mean for us, i.e., love, friendships, family, business, ourselves, health and as we know there are many subcategories to the list I’ve just mentioned on this line. It’s almost like taking a journey from wherever you are and choosing to walk all the way no matter what obstacle you may be faced with and remaining with the vision and belief of the end goal always at the forefront. As such, hopes and dreams don’t help one reach the goal, they help with the vision, but really, it takes effort, consistent effort to not give up.
If one gives up before even getting up, or if one gives up thinking they’re roughly half or a quarter of the way, then, that is just their perception, no one really knows how far they are to the breakthrough, or how far they are from the next level, they could simply just be around the corner from it, that is why one should keep persisting.
To give you this comparison to something more powerful at work is an example of the journey of a small tree to becoming the size that it can grow to. It can only but do with what is available to it on its journey to growth and strive on the hell-over hot days with what it’s got even in the moment it is presented with heat, drought, rain, flood and the same, it can die under the hands of a really good farmer or it could flourish from just a seed in some deserted area where no one really goes. What matters in this whole scenario? It tries its best to survive day in and day out with what it can access and with what comes its way, the rest is up to the universe.
Can we imagine a time when an aeroplane seemed to be just an idea, and to think how many people never saw that possibility that we could have crafts that transported people in the air, how much belief and perseverance one had to have around majority of the naysayers? Or the man who believed there was no such thing as monsters and signalled his community of people when he got to the other end of the mountain/hill to prove it? Perseverance is voluntary, and with the acceptance that one really won’t know but something in their heart is determined to follow through. – T. Dench Patel, 29 April 2021, 16:51
Where a real powerful goal is involved, there is fear and when this combination exists is when one can really understand persistence or perseverance and the nature or intensity of the journey to get to the other side. With this journey of reaching the final goal, there is disappointment, short and small successes, failures, mistakes, as such obstacles, and yet, one still perseveres. The truth is, and it’s almost stated everywhere when I read about perseverance, that perseverance requires a partner. Why? What if, what one is aiming for isn’t partnered with knowledge or wisdom then one could be chasing phantoms forever. That is literally the challenge that thousands of people out there face.
The power of perseverance will be partnered with (various occasions, chopping and changing) enthusiasm, knowledge, determination, feeling like quitting, motivation, encouragement, etc …
Now that is all I have for now, and so to close on this topic I will leave you with this quote,
“You must do the things today that others will not do so that you can have the things tomorrow that others will not have.” Anonymous
Yours sincerely,
