Hello friends,
you know friends, I am so glad to be here writing about this topic. How are you coping? I believe these trying times has made billions of people pause, sit back, process some things, visit some darkness and I am sensing the energy out there. I am sensing so many people feeling like they want to reconnect, this time in a very genuine way, better than how we were to each other before COVID.
This topic has been on my list for a while now and today I feel like it’s time to visit it. I don’t know there are some discussions on entrepreneurial boards about focusing, getting results, working from serving, genuinely serving and then there are some very impatient people who are just starting on this journey, some have taken this route after being laid off from work while others are not really certain why they are not getting the results they wish to see in their personal, professional life or even both. Now, time and time again, those who are just beginning on this road, those who have started to invest in themselves and their growth are still beginning to learn about their demons, learn about where they could have taken the wrong steps or decisions in the past. As we know, there is tons to learn out there and about ourselves and starting out is just scratching the surface.
So, I have decided to tackle this topic because at some point or even at many moments in our lives we all have copied someone somewhere, I mean the most copying begins when we are young, after all, copying is the beginning of character definition. As we get older, copying can work in terms of strategy, getting results even, but to be someone else or to do something that someone else is doing and to hope we’d get the very same results can be that we are not following what is really showing up or coming up most of the time in our hearts, spirit and intuition. I have to be honest, if someone is always looking around and stops focusing on their own results to then focus on the results of others there is much self-improvement required. I tell you this because I have been (thank god, it’s no longer my present) a victim of people whose focus was on me rather than themselves. There were several times in my life where I was the person others wanted to take out of from my own desires so that they could have what I desired and knowing this, what I desired and what others wanted wasn’t what I desired (they got it wrong and so many people got this wrong) they couldn’t take away the spirit (this is what people who believe they can’t make it, desire of someone – mind you there are some really humble people out there who are also just happy for them). Just think about it, it’s your attitude to life that will decide how happy you will be, taking away the fact that if life’s rollercoasters were to take something away from you your attitude to life is what keeps your spirit alive. – T. Dench Patel, 21 April 2021, 16:41 The answer is clear, to you right, and on the headline of this article? When the focus is going externally or deflected onto someone it’s merely showing us the reflection of ourselves and our flaws. T. Dench Patel, 21 April 2021, 16:35
This is the reason why really successful people in this world meditate daily, to bring back the intrinsic focus on themselves, on their internal compass so that the compass remains aligned to their highest values, morals, outcomes, and purpose, so that the why is their own logo to their own capabilities to reach their desired (see the word, desired) impact, results, call it what you wish but it’s a personal trademark to each individual if they continuously look within themselves, keep the focus internal yet still be wise externally. I mean if you think about it or if you think about all the times when you have been cheated, backstabbed, something that has been done to you in not a nice way, I always think of these moments as (if it was intentional) it was done to pull off your happiness or smile even, but what if you can smile through life even when it is hard, now this is what many people really want but they don’t really know it. The fact that you can persevere through any circumstance, through whatever it is that life is handing you and still come out on the other side with gratitude and the thought that it’s okay it’s gone at least I’m still here attitude, and at least my spirit is still here as in my spirit of not ever quitting and that it really doesn’t matter who is focusing on me. That is the spirit of success.
And so… to answer the question of why am I not succeeding it’s answering these questions first and foremost, what do I desire? Why do I desire it? Am I ready to do what it takes to get there? The spirit of success requires consistency, relentless perseverance, lifting the spirit from disheartening moments, getting up, and get going… know this and start somewhere. T. Those igniting and alit through their spirit of success know that it’s not personal it’s life. To stay within this spirit means we can’t take everyone with us, and we can’t say yes to everyone. When you understand this and really feel this concept in all you do you are ready, ready to lead yourself. If your why is not selfish and genuinely in place to serve then I believe (after my mentor told us yesterday), “Your business owes you nothing, you cannot be self-entitled to it.” As such when I hear these words, I really do think about how we arrive on this planet, whatever we have belonged to someone else, it belongs to someone out there it comes in our hands it leaves our hands, and I remember what Jeff Bezos once said too, “Don’t be proud of your talents or skills be proud of your choices. Those are the things you can be proud about.” So, what do we really own in this world when in the end we’re going to give it away or it could even be taken away? See those two words, give and take (this is fundamental to life, you don’t want to miss tomorrow’s article, seriously). All we can really own is ourselves and all we control within ourselves until we leave our body, even that (our body) is not ours to keep. T. Dench Patel, 21 April 2021, 17:29
