Hey friends,
How are you today? This Sunday evening.
I am thinking about you all ?.
You know I’ve been late with writing my article today. It feels so surreal that I am with my family in South Africa, the sun is shining, the water from our window view glimmering while I’m sitting and working in the room listening to people outside having fun. Some extended family have shown up and a few hugs were thrown around. It’s beautiful after having been out in the real world for eighteen years struggling and having fun. The question is, why did I leave this life behind? I left it because I wanted freedom. Yes, freedom from these systems man has made for people from less fortunate countries, and one can argue about many more systems which are in place currently in our world BUT (always BUTTING in) when you feel gratitude, you feel free at the same time.
So, South Africa is known for good food, tourism, exotic fruits and veg and also the various types of cuisine because of the amount of diversity that lives here. I thought I was healthier in Europe and the UK all this time, and so I was but can there be an even healthy life? Yes, there can be. You go around the world and circle back to home only to understand that the highest level of “healthy” existed and currently exists at home sweet home.
The reason why I wanted to write this article for you is that I want you to know how food plays an importance with your happiness, literally. I’ve got an acute awareness/sense about it especially, after travelling around the world and facing adversities that I am pretty sure you will be able to relate to. I can draw from all those adversities and how I’ve overcome them as it was a combination of life, people you meet, your habits, and the food you eat that affects your health and the way you function.
Alright, when did I start to recognise and be aware of what I was attracting? In 2014, when I began meditation after a series of crisis say in May 2014, I realised after trying various types of meditation that I was benefitting from chakra meditations more. While implementing meditation as a habit and exercise, I still didn’t feel strong. I felt weak in my core until I got the awareness around food. I realised that my energy levels were still low, and the low feeling that still persisted was because I wasn’t selecting the right foods, and I wasn’t making eating healthy by choice a habit. Being healthy then made me realise that it’s a combination of things that make one a healthy person, and the same goes for, if you’re trying to get the six-pack then your eating habits have to be watched even more. What you want to achieve for your body, whether you exercise, or not you always must be careful of what you eat.
So, taking extra care or an act of self-love, I decided to add superfoods, keep my slim figure and still have good energy. I really wanted to be on top with my energy and health so that I can defeat the low feeling when I woke up, or feel happier and vitalised, or even change a feeling of low enthusiasm and motivation which I felt often. I knew that the most hunger and drive I’ve felt for getting out there and making it happen was where I grew up, back home in South Africa, only I could not return home because I was in a trap. So, I decided to do my best and meet me where I was at, and that was in the United Kingdom still recovering from the crisis which you’ll pick up from reading the rest of my articles. If you’re feeling depleted, then look at your habits, what you’re eating, when you start your day and select the jobs that require high focus in the mornings. Later on, in the day, your energy level gets depleted.
Now, do you want to know something more? Willpower and food are linked. Take a look at this article Willpower.
Okay, now I am going to tell you my experience; you know where I stopped when I found that chakra meditation was working for me? A year from there; one summer’s day, I decided to get more salads. For some reason, I was inspired to make different types of salads that summer. So, I went shopping an bought a whole lot of vegetables. If I remember clearly, I bought cherry tomatoes, purple onion, lettuce, carrots, blueberries, orange peppers, black beans, avocado and got the honey type salad dressing. I began to cut it all, and as I washed them, I thought, “Hey, these are all the colours of the chakras here.” I was certain my higher self took my habit with food subconsciously on another level. I decided to research it.
Now take an even closer look at this article below about your relationship with yourself and food.

Now let me take you even further. In the year 2018 and until March 2019; when I was going through a few things, I still felt weak, and the unfortunate events led to an even better blessing. I finally got to eat my mum’s cooking after eighteen years, but more so, we also prepare food from our garden. Check out my Instagram account to see that. Today, I feel like my full energy is back within me; like the core of me is nourished in terms of my health. My body feels stronger, I feel stronger, my bones feel strong, my core feels like steel, and the good thing is that I am vegetarian, and I feel so strong that my skin glows.
Maybe having the sun is also a good thing. Eating certain foods helps with your mental health. Let me provide you with some related posts below for you to view.
