Are you scattered from the morning onwards? Are you doing things for everyone else but yourself? Stop! Pay attention; you’re depleting yourself.
Do you have a morning ritual for your day? How many of you set the tone with one small event that went wrong in the morning and let that determine the kind of day you’re going to have?
You will be surprised how spending fifteen to forty-five minutes on yourself at the start of the day makes the day go smooth and keeps you centred.
Women tend to have the habit of looking after the family, and so many mothers put themselves last.
For you to be able to love others, you must love yourself first.
I’ve listed a few success habits here on this link but here are a few more if you’re not ready for meditation as yet. Make sure you fill your cup first and foremost (not selfish at all).

Okay, I understand not everyone can carve out twenty minutes in a day. I suggest that you experiment first to see what works for you. Here’s a list of things that people I followed and read about do.
- Meditation
- Yoga
- Journaling
- Visualisation
- Affirmations
- Dance
- Exercise
- Go for a stroll
- Hang upside down for 15 minutes
- Make a cup of coffee or tea for breakfast and eat your breakfast in silence for 10 to 20 minutes
- Read books
- Eat healthily
- Plan their day and stick to the routine for self-discipline (Plan your day the night before)
- Reflect on your day
- Spend time thinking for 10 minutes in silence at the end of the day
- Spend time with your loved ones
Hey, relax, I understand you can’t do all of this in one day, and some of you can’t fit five of the above points in on one day. How bout starting with one or two in a small dose rather than taking it on altogether. Better little than nothing daily so that you can see how it benefits you. Chop and change to see what you like and where you benefit the most by trying different things. The more spiritual work you put into yourself, the better you’ll be able to attract the right things into your life.
There are other things you can incorporate as good habits, as part of your life, e.g. If you’re going to cook anyway why don’t you cook something healthy? If you’re looking for time to spend with your loved ones, schedule a healthy meal that everyone cooks and eat together. In Spain, families eat for two hours, and they’re not eating a lot they’re just talking a lot. They catch up over a meal, (it looks toxic when they catch up because when they talk, it seems like they’re shouting) it’s a very Spanish thing to do. Laugh, joke, talk about their day and discuss an idea over a meal if someone has something on their mind. Spanish families, the ones I’ve seen are very united.
For me, I alternate the above, but the core things I do religiously are:
- Meditation
- Exercise in the form of dance (alternate)
- Visualisation
- Prayer
- Affirmations
- Journaling
- Say thanks
I do the rest depending on the priority I feel intuitively within myself, and when it’s called for as I often live in surrender mode.
If life brings me a family, I spend time with my family. If I happened to be in a bookshop and I like a book, then I get it. If I sense my back is hurting, I do Yoga. Somethings have to be part of a schedule during a month, but there are few days of spontaneity during the week so that I don’t feel like I’m living like a robot.
When your vibe is good, the things that rotate around you are right. By having success habits, you’re calling the good to you from inside out because you’re vibrating positive vibes.
You have to know this
The hardest work is to control yourself, i.e. willpower, discipline, remove fear, learn to live without your device, control the ego and pride, stay positive, keep quiet and listen, learn, observe, see the detail, learn to say no, learn to say yes to the right things, force yourself to be in a positive environment, know when you need to get out of your own way, push yourself when you’re lagging, be kind to yourself, build your intuition and you know what, this list is endless…
The more you do the success habits, the more you will wither away what doesn’t serve you. Working from alignment is the best possible thing you can do for you.
In doses, you’re teaching yourself to be calm, to see another person’s perspective, and over time, you will be able to compare the old you and the new you. You would have replaced the old beliefs and toxic ways with new ways attracting the best outcome for yourself.
You basically get rid of all the things you have been carrying that has been holding you back.
You have to know this even more…
So why must you do all of this? The most important question of all?
Look at yourself as this ship. The compass is in your ship. Your craft has either been going round in circles (a pattern), your ship might have been going backwards, or your ship is just wondering around the sea.
You need to get your ship onto the path. By setting the tone for the day and centring yourself, you’re setting the course and to continue the course (every day), you will have to remove the weight on this ship. It might be too overloaded or just loaded. By having good habits (for me meditation is key) it removes day to day baggage you’ve been carrying for years around self-blame, self-hate, sabotage, regret, limiting beliefs, lack of confidence, victimisation, pain, anger, your inner child and what he or she has carried and a whole lot of junk you’ve been taking that is hiding your light. You can’t get rid of this in one day or one month, and as long as you’re on your path in life you will have to shed this load somewhere every single day; i.e. cleansing yourself from it, detaching, releasing it so that you are lighter to take on what you’re meant to for the greater good. That’s where your purpose really lies, and that’s where your colours really shine.
Carving out even fifteen minutes for you in the morning is like steering the ship in the direction that you want your perfect day to be and even though you might not be living your ideal day now, you’re on your way to it…
