Mother nature is a powerful force that
can get a country, nation, even the world to stop.
Today she’s laid the white blanket flat
on the trees, roads, houses and rooftop.
Trees, leaves, and branches are weighed down,
but now and then she’ll be the breeze to ruffle them off.
She’s arrived so elegantly into town with her white fluffy gown.
Coughs or write-offs, this is no time for show-offs…
Powder, flakes, soft, snow…
Robins look scared to step in the foam,
while some are in a strop, like CEOs,
the rest of us are cosy at home.
I love it early in the morning,
while everyone is still yawning.
I stand still and hear mother nature talking.
If you listen, the snow is the only sound … falling.
