Hello, my friends,
How are you today?
Sorry to sound the same old same. This is what text does. Trust that when I ask you, “How are you?” I really mean it. Only a handful of people in our lives really know us and are there through all odds; unconditional love.
Let’s you and I make a deal when you read this. The deal is usually when I meditate; I send light to the living and dead on this planet four days a week. I shower the world and everything in it with light, but I will go one extra mile now. I will say the following words from now on during those four days a week, “God bless every living being on this planet.” When you say a prayer or transmit good wishes, please include me in there if you can remember. I am sure you have a whole lot of people you think of every single day, and I don’t blame you at all. The reason I say this is because prayers or the transmitting of good wishes does help. God knows how many people already include me in their prayers or good wishes. If I don’t know who you are, thank you, and please don’t stop because I won’t have come so far in my life without that, especially that.
So, why have I gone all sentimental on you?
See, when I left for travelling at a very young age a lot of people were concerned about me. It reminds me a little of the movie called Lion. I am not going to give the story away, but personally, I believe a combination of prayers/transmitting of good wishes and destiny helped the boy in this story which by the way is a true story.
Let me tell you what I know about this. I come from a home where there is a lot of compassion, love, kindness, generosity and faith in God. I come from a home where there are pictures of gods in every room. There is no place in this home where god doesn’t live (after travelling I know there is no place outside of this home where god doesn’t live either) and I feel the presence of goodness all the time in my home.
I feel I am protected, and during my travels, I felt it the most. I knew and know that my family always keep me in their thoughts, and my parents prayed for me every single day. In the last six years and till the day I leave planet earth I pray and will pray for every single member of my family and yes, the dog is part of our family too and now for you as well. I believe without prayer, which is a form of love, a human being can find themselves is the darkest and most bottomless pit.
You know when you read my books, you will learn of some deep stuff, but at the same time, I am a very blessed person. I knew that something beyond me had/has my back (sometimes I forget), and I felt it, I felt it while travelling that I was not alone. Someone was always praying for me from a distance.
And so, I returned home, to find what was always at home. Mine and every family member’s picture stuck on the walls, picture frames, on the fridge along with our pets who are no longer with us near the gods. This is my mum’s work. Some of the pictures have a “chandlo” on them. Usually, when you go to a temple, say a prayer, light a divo (similar to a candle) there is damp red powder and rice on the tray so that you can put it on your forehead or bless someone else with it (Hindu tradition), that damp red powder is what you’d make a red dot with. This is not only for ladies but also for men.
When I returned from 18 years of being out there in the real world, I basically left as a girl and returned as a grown woman. It was new for my family and especially my parents to see their daughter practising the morning routine religiously so that I can stay grounded. Prayer is part of that routine. In less than a month, my mother said the sentence, “Prayers do help.”
Prayers/transmitting of good wishes is powerful because it’s a good intention that you’re sending. If you think about the things you’ve so surprisingly in a good way manifested, it all began with an intention or and action coming from the conscious or subconscious thought. When you read my books The South African: True Colours and The South African: Roamer this is where I demonstrate close calls; where one would have been close to giving up or where one could have ended up in a worse place, but I honestly believe that prayers/transmitting of good wishes is an unnoticed force in the story.
This is love acting in the form of a magical spell, that’s why the Harry Potter books are more profound than you might think. It is that extra protection that all of us really need, especially on the darkest, saddest and most confusing moments.
“Prayers do help,” she says, and now she doesn’t stop saying it. Every good thing I have lived through and manifested I believe had something to do with a prayer someone said for me somewhere as well as putting my part into things to get the desired outcome.
So, I’d like to end with, “God bless you,” and thank you for looking out for me in such a magical way.
