You know a lot of the most intelligent women or the most successful women say, “Don’t let anyone know you’re hurting, show them a smile and make them wonder how you did it,” some say, “Don’t show people your weaknesses they will use it as a weapon.” It’s tricky right? Men prefer authenticity these days but just be vulnerably authentic in front of women and wow! You’ve got a whole lot of problems to untangle in minutes or even hours.
Today, during lunchtime I had a conversation with my mother. What they called guts back then when they didn’t get a proper education knowing that they will end up having an arranged marriage and doing something out of the norm was probably very gutsy compared to today. Back then guts meant that you have just about one and if you’re lucky two chances to get into a favourable situation and then the window will close but for a new door to open you might have to wait forever or just jump and take the open door in front of you right now and pray that everything is going to go well. Little was in a women’s control be it anywhere in the world at that time. Check out this article if you want to get a just of what I mean https://tdenchpatel.com/the-only-way-you-can-bring-your-children-up-equally-is-if-society-breaks-the-gender-gap/
Having guts is one thing and why I say it isn’t enough is because we live in a world where there are still indifferences i.e. racism, sexism, patriarchy, xenophobia, gender inequality etc. Whether you have more guts or not does it mean that your challenges end there or that life will be a fairy tale? Who knows how long you have to keep the guts going? When I look at Mandela or Gandhi for instance I wondered that surely at some point they thought they were close and did they say, “I can see the end,” only to find that they’re back at the beginning again or that they’ve lost or that the end which seemed like the end was a temporary pause period to regroup, get some energy and plan a new strategy or way of thinking?
There are a handful of people who has what it takes to be gutsy all the way, seriously all the way through life. These are people who follow their soul mission. They trust in the unknown, they trust in say God or the Universe or themselves… whatever it is they just trust the mission and believe they’ve been handed with the job to complete it. Are you that person? Have you found your soul mission? Whether it’s being a baker, housewife, lawyer, writer, doctor, cashier… whatever it is that is calling you to do that job/mission, are you following it to understanding what your true calling really is? It starts with listening and following the first sign and then following the signs after that i.e. no doubt, no fear, no resistance, no control and just follow…
Now that is true guts, right? You have no idea who you’re going to meet, what’s going to happen, how it’s going to fall in place, what about money but you have to trust. It’s almost like a partner, a brother/sister, a father or a mother saying, “I know what you need right now, you don’t, just trust me.” What would most people do, they trust themselves? Okay, so now that we got that covered let’s take one more step forward. Now that you can trust yourself, how different is it to trust yourself with your soul mission? Once you got that sorted you leave it to say God or the Universe or whatever you believe in and follow your intuition. Don’t lose sight of your soul mission…
So, it sounds like a really good recipe, what I’ve written above. Let’s get the ingredients and it will be done in say an hour :D.
It takes going through life, being aware, listening, observing what is coming up for you, processing it and then taking action. There are two directions that people will take. There comes a point when you’re frustrated with yourself and frustrated with the situation or your life. You will either turn that frustration into action moving forward i.e. not giving up or even going with greater force or you will back down. This completely depends on the track your mind is running on. Most people fail to see the signs and believe they deserve something else which might have worked the first time round but not the second or the third time. If that is what you really feel like doing from within you day in and day out then that speaks volumes and if not it’s going to take guts to abandon it and learn something completely new which might even end up being something that you constantly thought of doing throughout your life but never had the guts to do it until now…
There are two types of people when they become frustrated with themselves, their life or the situation. One is the person who refuses to give up and finds a way to continue with greater force and the other is the person who will back down, remain stagnant and abort the soul mission. The direction chosen depends on the “track” the mind is running on. Change “tracks”. – T. Dench Patel 16:04, 9 May 2019.
